Why it matters

The domestic rabbit is the 3rd most abandoned companion animal in the country. Having lost all natural instincts, they are not capable of surviving outside. Rabbits that are lucky enough to stay inside still face neglect, both innocent and deliberate.

Purchasing a live bunny for Easter may sound like an adorable idea. It’s not. Rabbits are not easy-to-care-for and sadly many get discarded at shelters or worse, “set free” in the weeks following.
